Coastal resilience

National Wildlife Federation

From endangered whooping cranes in Texas to oyster reefs in Galveston Bay, this project documents the vital restoration work happening along the Gulf Coast. In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the National Wildlife Federation and partners continued to invest in habitat protection, water quality improvement, and shoreline stabilization to support both wildlife and communities. The goal was to create visuals that captured the delicate balance between nature’s vulnerability and its resilience. These images follow the threads of recovery and innovation, showing how targeted conservation measures are creating lasting impact.
