This project brought photography education to rural youth and community members in Northern Ghana through a collaboration with Engage Globally and Community Empowerment Resources (CER). Rather than documenting these communities through my perspective as an outsider, I taught students how to use digital cameras to capture their own lives: their homes, families, and connections to the land through their own perspective. The project culminated in a trip to Mole National Park, where the students saw elephants for the first time. These images reflect not just a journey through conservation education, but a shift in perspective, one where the storytellers are those most intimately connected to the land.
